How to make rolled paper roses

Hi everyone, This is my first tutorial. Hope it helps you in creating these pretty roses.

Material required: An A4 size sheet of desired color(I have used origami sheet here) , Quilling tool or any round stick to roll the flower, glue, scissors, pencil

Step 1:  Take a paper and cut a circle out of it. The circle need not be precise just a rough circle will do.The size of my circle is roughly about the size of my palm.

Step 2: Draw a spiral shape

Step 3: Cut along the spiral
Step 4: Start rolling with the help of a quilling tool or a stick starting from the outer edge
Step 5: After rolling as you reach the end of the spiral put some glue at the base, take the flower out of the quilling tool carefully and stick the flower on this glued base. just keep pressed for a minute.
The flower is ready.

Tip: During the procress of sticking flower at the base you can uncurl the centre rolled petals with your fingers to spread the flower and increase its diameter but be careful while doing this else the rose wil open up completely.

Newspaper basket

I have created this basket with the help of Gustamonton's video on youtube.  I made this whole in one day. Had to create lots of rolled newspaper tubes but it was fun. Since this was the first time the mesh didnt turn out to be neat.

Have added flowers to add some colors to the basket.

Have a colorful day :) !!!

Quilled Lord Ganesha with roses frame

I present my quilled Lord Ganesha here. This Mahashivratri (A hindu festival celebrated annually. It is the day when Lord Shiva was married to Goddess Parvati.) I was thinking of making something relevant to Lord Shiva but came up with this idea of quilling Lord Shiva's son Lord Ganesha :) I have drawn the sketch first by taking the idea from a google image painting the background with my acrylics, and then started quilling. For giving a unique look I thought of decorating the frame with these small roses. I so enjoy making these lovely paper roses.. guess this is my latest obsession  :)

Hope you all liked this post..

Thanks for dropping by !!

you can buy the quilling strips from Amazon(link below) or your local craft store.

Roses on newspaper frame

Just a coincidence that I thought of making these small cute roses without thinking that its valentine time. Nice timing yeah.. I really enjoyed making these small roses. I wanted to create some wall hanging sort of thing and for that i needed a frame for I resorted to newspaper rolled sticks.

However creating this frame was not that easy and sticking the flowers together was tricky as my idea was to have a see through kind of frame so there is no paper or base behind the roses but now I think atlleast behind the roses I can have some base . But here it is. I have quilled a yellow butterfly to complete the picture.

Let me know how it looks :)

quilled card

After a long break I am back. Since quite some time I wished to create a card for one of my dear sister but due to some health constraints was delaying it. My idea was to make some flowers , a butterfly and small tiny feet on the card. I was browsing google on how to go about the feet and I happened to stumble across Suganthi Mam's baby shower card. I liked the circle design and have copied the same and feet similar to her card but tried giving it a different look.

Those feet took a long time to be made and offcourse putting up the circle was a tedious task . I couldnt click the pictures properly as I was damn tired in the end ;) :p

You all should have a look at Suganthi mam's card here. It is no doubt perfect in neatness and creativity  :)
